Diocese of Brentwood Centenary Concert
Wednesday 1st November 2017
On 28th October 2017, six members of the MHR 9am Choir joined the Brentwood Diocesan Centenary Chorus for this unique Centenary event. A chorus of over ninety singers drawn from the Cathedral Choirs, Diocesan Parishes and Brentwood Choral Society were directed by Andrew Wright (Diocesan Master of Music) and Jonathan Schranz (Director of the Brentwood Choral Society) and were accompanied by the ELMS Chamber Orchestra, drawn primarily from London Music Colleges.
The programme of music was as follows: -
Vivaldi - Double Trumpet Concerto
Elgar - Sospiri
Vivaldi - Gloria
Schubert - Mass in G
Vaughan Williams - Serenade to Music
An audience of around 150 people enjoyed this varied programme, especially the rousing Vivaldi Gloria, as the Diocese Centenary celebrations draw to a memorable close.
