Another busy Advent for our choirs!
Sunday 22nd December 2019
Sunday 1st December
On the first Sunday of Advent, the 9am Choir paid its annual visit to the Anisha Grange Care Home to sing Christmas carols to the residents.
It was another lovely occasion that included readings by choir members.
To finish, the choir went outside to sing "Silent Night" before the Christmas lights were illuminated on the home's huge tree.
Sunday 8th December
On the second Sunday Advent, The MHR Singers and The Most Holy Redeemer Children's Choir gave a lovely "Presentation of Their Favourite Carols" in the Church.
The MHR Singers, directed by Kathy Underhill, sang a selection of their favourite carols pieces including All Bells in Paradise by John Rutter, In the bleak midwinter by Harold Darke and There is no rose by Andrew Wright.
The Most Holy Redeemer Children's Choir, directed by Bernadette Maskell, then provided a delightful selection of Christmas pieces (sung in a different way!) including Christmas Calypso, We three kings and Little Donkey.
The two choirs also joined together to sing Lying Humbly on the Hay by Mark Nuttall and Star Carol by John Rutter.
The concert was dedicated in memory of Ros Kelk, a dearly loved 9am Choir member who recently departed.
