Baptism Course
Baptism is the first Sacrament that we receive as Catholic Christians and is one in which we are welcomed into the family of God.
Your child is welcome to be Baptised here if at least one parent is a Catholic. You should also live in the parish or have a link to our church (perhaps if you were brought up here).
For the Baptism, you'll also need Godparents, at least one, and they need to be a baptised, confirmed and practicing Catholic, over the age of 18.
If you would like to have your child baptised at the Most Holy Redeemer call or
email the Parish Office and we will put you in touch with a member of our Baptism Preparation Team who will then guide you and support you with regard to taking the next steps.

First Holy Communion Course
Preparation for First Holy Communion and First Reconciliation takes place in our parish every year for children in school Year 4 or above.
Information about how to join the First Holy Communion course will be announced at the Parish Masses and parents who would like their children to make their First Holy Communion should speak to Father Dan at the end of one of the weekend Masses.
Our First Holy Communion preparation centres around family catechesis where parents, as the primary educators of their children, work with them during the sessions, supported by experienced catechists.
When you feel that your child is ready, they will then celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation (usually in November) and make their First Holy Communion either in the First Holy Communion Masses or in one of the Parish Masses.
All families who want to join the First Holy Communion programme will be expected to take part in parish groups and organisations for the duration of the course. This will you're your children to see that service to others is also part of being a Christian and that by sharing your gifts and talents in some way, you can help them to grow in their sense of belonging to our parish family.

This means that all families who want to join the Confirmation course will be expected to take part in parish groups and organisations for the duration of the programme.

ABC
Each year, on Monday evenings, from October to Easter we have a series of talks on the Catholic Faith entitled A-B-C- About Becoming Catholic. This course is designed for adults who are not Catholic and who are interested in finding out more about the Catholic Church and for adult Catholics who, for whatever reason, haven't made their First Holy Communion or Confirmation. We meet from 8pm to 9pm in the Father Sammon Room in the upstairs part of the Parish Pastoral Centre - all who are interested are most welcome.
